The health care crisis continues in America .We are the richest country on earth and we can’t figure out how to take care of our people when they get sick? Why on earth would the law provide that your house be seized because you have to go in a nursing home? Why are people forced to go to the emergency room when a family doctor could take of the problem? Our health care system needs to change; it can’t happen in one or two years.
But we have to get to a system where we take care of everyone.

Problem is, everytime the Democrats try to do something about it we get tagged as socialists. It has happened to every President who tried to address the health care issue; from Truman to Johnson---Even NIXON and then Clinton. Maybe one day we will see serious reform, but his holiness has his doubts.
Something needs to be done. Phyllis Mundy has been fighting Blue Cross of NEPA trying to get them to spend their surplus rather than raise rates. Blue Cross really cares. I noticed in today's paper they're raising their rates again. It's a shame the government just sits back and watches while health insurance companies keep taking and taking. How many people are going to be able to afford this increase? How many will have to cancel and try to survive with no insurance at all? For some people it may come down to insurance or having a place to live and food on the table. It's way past time for national health insurance. It works in other countries. Why can't we give it a shot here? Does it have anything to do with the fact that drug companies run this country (along with oil companies)? And we all know why that is, don't we!?!
Actually, socialism is an abject failure and would kill the US HC system. I have addressed this a number of times in my blog, but thats another story. Problem number 1 is lawsuits. Number 2 is entitlement mentailities. Number 3 is some people choosing not to purchase thier insurance. GRR i could go on for days..
