I think that the most significant event of the past year is that a court decided that you have a constitutional right to swear at your toilet. I'm not kidding, free speech is free speech and if the government can regulate what you say in your own home we should just tear up the Bill of Rights. Not that the Bush administration isn't trying.
I was going to do a long post about 2007 but you know what happened and I'm taking a few days off.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Just check the back editions of Gort's site, Wilkes Barre On Line and The LuLac Political Letter and you'll be inundated with more information on what happened than you can imagine. As my friend Shadoe Steele says, "you can't make this stuff up".
I survived another year.
To all of you bloggers out there I'd just like to wish you a safe, happy and healthy new year. This is a time to embrace all the wonderful things we have in life--great friends and family and memories that we cannot relive. This is a time to cherish all we can, to make ammends and embrace all who we hold dear. May 2008 hold many wonderful gifts and memories for you all. Make each moment important. Let all your family and friends know how much you love them and care about them. Life is too short, but you can make every memory last in the hearts of those dear to you just by saying "I love you". Take the time to tell someone how you feel. It will make you a better person and you'll make someone's day. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!
Happy new year Gort! I think the first reader took the "...but you know what happened" to mean that something happened to you that is keeping you from writing. I thought that at first too until I re-read the post. Anyway, hope all is well.
