She has held hearings in Harrisburg on this issue and was the only one of the pathetic northeast delegation to stick her neck out and say something. Ironic that the only woman in the old boys club has more brass ones (and I'm counting the napping Ray Musto and "get a life" Mellow here too)than the entire northeast bloc. Hopefully the new guys like Pashinski, Carroll, Shimkus and Smith will join her fight. But forget Mellow, sources I have tell me he wants the school named after himself.David Yonkihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00025916404029693902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12341882.post-1169072603006635312007-01-17T17:23:00.000-05:002007-01-17T17:23:00.000-05:00Those funds were paid to Blue Cross for the expres...Those funds were paid to Blue Cross for the express purpose of providing health care, not for building a medical school. This is abuse of rate payers and one more example of why we need a state run single payer system.PA progressivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00470386530925484128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12341882.post-1169072130389429292007-01-17T17:15:00.000-05:002007-01-17T17:15:00.000-05:00Yeah, I know that she is politicking, and I too wi...Yeah, I know that she is politicking, and I too wish she would do something, but much of her criticisms of the press embracing BC's proposal blindly and BC stockpiling loot when they are a nonprofit are accurate.
I hope that her piece causes her constituents to see that there are issues that need to be addressed, and that she is addressing these issues like you or I would, not like we would expect an elected official to address them. Maybe they'll figure it out. I still have faith, albeit rapidly diminishing, in humanity.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12341882.post-1169067944332685352007-01-17T16:05:00.000-05:002007-01-17T16:05:00.000-05:00Herein lies Phyllis Mundy. Enough letters Phyllis do something, please god, our communities are in trouble! We need help stop and do some real work for once.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12341882.post-1169054060501582452007-01-17T12:14:00.000-05:002007-01-17T12:14:00.000-05:00Hey man, that is a great analysis of the situation...Hey man, that is a great analysis of the situation at hand.
I was not surprised when they made the announcement about how they were going to use all of the excess they had accrued, and the local press embraced their plan with very little details.
Nonprofits have become a haven for abuse - especially in Pennsylvania. CityVest is supposed to take on blighted properties that no one else wants. They receive millions in funding from all levels of government, but there is little oversight as to whether they spend the money wisely or not. The same with BC of NEPA.
Maybe the nonprofits aren't profiting, but their friends sure are.
peace - t.g.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
