Since Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta sponsored the recent Santorum Re-election Fear, Hate and Division Act, aka Illegal Immigration Relief Ordinance, he has become a media darling and hero to the Flat Earth Society. I even heard a rumor that Lou Dobbs and Pat Buchanan want to take him to dinner but he has resisted their advances because his heart belongs to Ricky. Now Rick has moved on from the immigration issue to advocating starting a war with Iran-what the hell, the one in Iraq is going so well-Lou seems just a bit jealous and wants some attention. Just like Glenn Close, he will not be ignored. It's just not fair that the big cities get to have all the debates. Barletta suggested a debate be held between Santorum and Casey "here in Hazleton on the issue of illegal immigration, if no other topic. Let them debate what we're doing here in Hazleton." I bet he will even let that awful Bobby Casey into town after he checks his papers.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY BOTH LIBERALS AND CONSERVATIVES IN CONGRESS IGNORE THE FACT THAT THOSE WHO CAME OVER THE BORDER ARE ILLEGAL ALIENS. DO WE JUST GO ON AND ALLOW PEOPLE TO BREAK THE LAW? POLITICIANS ARE AFRAID OF THE HISPANIC VOTE AND THEREFORE HAVE SET ASIDE THEIR PROFILE OF COURAGE. I SUGGEST YOU READ PAT BUCHANAN'S NEW BOOK.
couple of things... not everybody who comes over the boarder is illegal. Some come over legal, some don't. There is a such thing called a legal immigrant. Second, why are you framing this as a Hispanic vote thing? Third, Buchanan has always been full of hot air. That Nixon staffer should be in the history books with the rest of them.
TO IVDEM; YOUR COMMENTARY IS LAUGHABLE--IT IS DOCUMENTED THAT THERE ARE 10--COUNT EM--10 MILLION ILLEGALS IN THE US; THE VAST MAJORITY ARE COMING FROM SOUTH OF THE BORDER BECAUSE THE MEXICAN ECONOMY IS IN A SHAMBLES--LAST I HEARD THERE IS NOT A GREAT INFLUX OF CANADIANS SNEAKING OVER OUR NORTHERN BORDER--SO YES--PEOPLE FROM MEXICO ARE HISPANIC. I GET SO TIRED OF THIS POLITICALLY CORRECT BS. FACE FACTS AND GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND.
