Deputy Secretary of State Randall L. Tobias submitted his resignation Friday, one day after confirming to ABC News that he had been a customer of a Washington, D.C. escort service whose owner has been charged by federal prosecutors with running a prostitution operation. Tobias is 65 and married.
Along with his wife, Marianne, Tobias donated over $100,000 to Republican candidates and political committees, according to the campaign finance Web site OpenSecrets.org. Tobias is the second prominent man to be identified as a customer of the Palfrey's "sexual fantasy service." Two weeks ago, Palfrey alleged that military strategist Harlan K. Ullman, creator of the "shock and awe" combat theory and now a scholar with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, was also a customer.
In related news; Former U.S. Rep. Joseph McDade is scheduled to appear in a Florida courtroom Tuesday for arraignment on a charge of indecent exposure.
In addition to criminal charges McDade is also facing civil action from the ASPCA for choking his chicken and spanking the monkey.

I would like to hear your interpretation of this news. Does it show hypocrisy? Does it show that all people need sex no matter what party they donate money to? What does it mean?
The hypocrisy speaks for itself.
Republicans are not hypocrits, These men are hypocrits.
Tobias may not be a hypocrit, becuase he is most likely not a conservative.
Unfortunately most administation officials in the state department are not conservatives, but followers of Leo Strauss and Irving Kristol. They only want to spread capitlaism and democracy becuase it is an essential step to the communist state.
Real conservatives like myslef prefer capitalism assuming we have institutions such as churches and civic groups that stop people from being greedy bastards. this promotes liberty. Capitlaism with no morality leads to communis. A true conservative will argue for government intervention if the people cannot handle thier liberty.
To quote Ben Franklin after the Constitutional convention, are from of government is "A Republic if you can keep it"
Bill, they are free market advocates who promote the GOP big business agenda of expanding markets into other parts of the country. Your party puts them there in the hopes of continuing to drive big business dollars to GOP candidates. Your party, headed by George W. Bush. Isn't Bush a conservative? Or has he been lying to you?
And using your logic of having churches/civic groups in place means that going to Iraq was a huge mistake b/c those organizations didn't exist. Understand, I agree with you... civil society is an important part of a democratic state. But understand the implication. Iraq has no civic groups under Sadam's reign. overthrow the regime. Install democracy. Civic groups are missing.
Is that an admission that Bush mucked this up?
