Senator Rick Santorum Endorses Dan Meuser for Congress

Former United States Senator Supports Conservative Businessman

Former United States Senator Rick Santorum today endorsed Dan Meuser for Congress
in Pennsylvania’s 10th District.

In a letter to Republican activists throughout the 10th Congressional District, Rick
Santorum praised Dan Meuser’s conservative values and his leadership on conservative
issues.

“Today, our party finds itself at a crossroads. We need to elect conservative leaders who
can go to Washington D.C. and stand up for our values. We need leaders who will stand
tall in the war against radical Islamists, stand up for the rights of the unborn, fight to
make tax relief a priority for our nation, cut wasteful spending, and protect our borders,”
Senator Santorum said. “The people of the 10th District will have the opportunity to elect
such a leader, and that is why I am proud to endorse Dan Meuser for Congress. “
Senator Santorum praised Dan’s position on the War on Terror and his support for our
brave men and women in uniform.

“I know that Dan understands that America is in the midst of a great global conflict, and
that he will stand with our troops in our fight against radical Islamists,” Senator Santorum
said. “Dan will be a Congressman our country can count on to support policies that
protect America and the troops can count on [him] to support them as they advance the
cause of freedom.”

Dan Meuser noted that Senator Santorum’s endorsement was the latest in a string of
conservative endorsements for his campaign.

Meuser said, “Senator Santorum is a national leader whose conservative policies I
embrace and I am excited to have his leadership, vision, and passion on my team.”

Dan Meuser is a conservative businessman who, over the past 20 years, helped transform
a small company into the leading manufacturer in mobility products in the world. The
company now employs more than 1,000 employees in Northeastern PA. His experience
of growing a small business into an international leader coupled with his conservative
values prepares him to deal with the challenges facing our nation. Dan lives in the Back
Mountain region of Luzerne County with his wife Shelley and their three children.

Update: I forgot to mention that one time prospective candidate Joe Peters also has endorsed Meuser.

Former Prosecutor and Homeland Security expert Joe Peters today endorsed Dan Meuser for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 10th District.

“Dan Meuser is the type of leader Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania desperately needs now,” Peters said. “Dan is a conservative who shares the values of the people of the district, including protecting innocent life and the 2nd Amendment and he is the candidate that can win back the 10th Congressional seat.”

Rick Santorum says "We need leaders who will... cut wasteful spending..."

Does he not know how much "wasteful spending" was done by Meuser in support of "Fast Eddie" Rendell and liberal democrat Charlie Rangell?

We love you Rick, but did you learn nothing from supporting Arlen Specter?

True conservatives are tired of "Washington Insiders" who "know how the game is played". We want someone we can trust, not a slick smile and a wad of cash.

Well, Rick just gave Dan the kiss of death. Anybody hear Hackett's commercials? He wants fiscal responsibility, but he gave money to Skrepenak in the last election... hmmmmm...

So Scott........your posts always make me laugh. You're one of those people who go around criticizing everyone around you so you can feel good about yourself. It's ok Scott. I'm sure you have a little self esteem in there somewhere.
Who would you suggest run?? Any chance you have something new to add to the conversation other than "Meuser gave some money to Dems?"
    Come on........you can do it.

Anon 11:04, come on, don't pick on Scott. Some people just regurgitate the same old stuff because they can't come up with something new on their own. I am curious too though. Who's your suggestion. And no fair saying something like "Justin Timberlake". He has to be someone actually in the race and not the guy on the poster on your wall.

  8. it is amazing that the Maderia/hackett team has so many bloggers. Santorum won the majority of the counties in the 10th- he is still loved by a large percentage of Republicans and you guys can't give the guy any credit. As soon as he announces that he will be running agian all the republicans will say they can't believe he waited this long to get back in. Plain and simple this endorsement is huge for Meuser. I can't stand hackett for what he did on illegal immigration. I was leaning towards him right up until I find out that hackett paid to have mexican president Vincente "send all my poor people to America" Fox to come and speak at the liberal Wilkes University and then hackett protests him to get some free press. Because of that my ticket is now "Anybody but Hackett". What a joke.

    Paul,

Would that Hackett had that much pull to bring in Fox, then maybe he could get Guiliani's endorsement!(he was a previous speaker in the Wilkes series)

Companies support these series, but they don't have any say over who gets invited, any more than the advertisers at the Kirby Center get to say what plays they put on this year.

And at the risk of sounding that note that bothers you so much Anon 11:04 and 11:08, it won't be someone who gives money to Ed Rendell and Charlie Rangel.

    Oops, I did it again...

    Scott,

If Hackett isn't smart enough to take into account such possibilities for a small event, maybe he and his staff aren't capable enough to handle the responsibilities of a Congressional district.

Luke 16:10-12 - “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?"

  12. Scott- you have to be joking- this is how it works-
Wilkes- Hi chris we have this event going on where Mexican president Vincente Fox will be speaking and we want you to pay for it?
hackett- Duh- sure I like mexican food
Wilkes- No he is the former president of Mexico- you know the one who says Americans are racist because they will not pay for all his poor people to recieve welfare, education, and special treatment by the Dems
hackett- oh yea the Dems- Skrepnak and Vonderheid I give them money so i will give you money for Fox

Hakcett- hey i sponsored this guy at Wilkes- name is Fox
    Maderia- NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Maderia- is revived from his fainting spell
"Tell me this is just a dream"

Hackett- Did I do something wrong?

Maderia- We have to get out of this- you should go and protest this and get some free press and hope nobody finds out

Scott- He sponsored the guy to come in and then protested it. If you speak for Hackett and he is good friends with former presidente Fox then you guys can have the credit for all the free trade and illegal immigration problems. That should go over well in the 10th

Oh no I just heard a thump- somebody get maderia some smelling salts.

Paul- You have a great sense of humour (not to mention a great imagination!) Seems to me if he didn't want anyone to find out, he would not have gone to protest.

I think it is more likely that he realized there would be negative press about it and thought he could try and salvage something out of it.

It was a bad decision on Hackett's part.

  15. Anon 11:22AM- I have alot of free time. I agree with anon 1:03- a great way to keep our attention off the fact he paid for it is to protest. Very dumb move to bring attention to it. Smart move would have been to say nothing.
