"Today, voters from the West Coast to the Gulf Coast to the heart of America stood up to say 'yes we can'" Obama said.
If it comes down to PA I'm not optimistic. People that are circulating petitions are being met with the objection about the color of his skin or they got an email saying he he is a muslim. Such bullshit is hard to rebut.
Gort, maybe you should mention about the March deadline for changing voting registrations to be eligible to vote in the primaries. I think its a good bit of information people may not be aware of.
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure about PA. I was circulating petitions in my hometown of Hazleton where I was met with great opposition by senior citizens that I had gotten signatures from for past elections.
ReplyDeleteIt's the audacity of hope versus the tenacity of old.
What can Barack actually give us??? What has he done??? Sounds like alot of rhetoric to me. If he actually gets in there, he'll shit his pants. He has no plan, just a slogan. What's wrong with the same old same old??? As long as it's no more Bush ideology I think we'll be OK. I'd rather have 4 or 8 years of a sure thing. Bill is tried and true. So what if he is a dirtbag morally!!!
ReplyDeleteI LIKE OBAMA, BUT ONE HAS TO AGREE THAT HE IS PACKAGED WITH A LOT OF HYPE. HE MAY VERY WELL BE NOMINATED AND HE MAY VERY WELL BE ELECTED BUT HE CAN NEVER LIVE UP TO THE IMAGE THAT PEOPLE HAVE CREATED.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any problem with Obama's skin color, but he consorts with and promotes people and organizations that have a problem with my skin color and also my religious identity.
ReplyDelete(1) Obama is not a Muslim (and being one would not disqualify him even if it were true). He is a member of a nominally Christian church whose racist pastor said "white America" got its "wake up call" after 9/11, among other things.
(2) Obama endorsed Al Sharpton and his National Action Network in the highest terms. This is the same organization that, under Sharpton's personal leadership and supervision, shouted racial and anti-Semitic epithets at a Jewish owned store (Freddy's Fashion Mart) in Harlem. One of Sharpton's deranged followers later set the store on fire and killed seven people. Also Google on "Sharpton" and "Yankel Rosenbaum" or "Tawana Brawley" just to see what Obama is promoting.
(3) Obama solicited and obtained the support of MoveOn.org. MoveOn.org's now-disgraced Action Forum welcomed (under the editorial control of MoveOn's moderators) hate speech against Jews and Catholics, along with 9/11 conspiracy theories that would have played well on the Jeff Rense Show. MoveOn published an anti-Catholic hate picture of Pope Benedict waving a gavel in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, as in "The Catholics are taking over America." I know a bit about the history of political cartoons, and it's what Thomas Nast would have drawn had color been available to him in the 19th century.
As the election approaches, I think it will be important to tell Pennsylvania's substantial Catholic population what Obama's friends think of the "Catholic Pedophiles of America," to use a verbatim quote. "Jews control all the media" was another, and these are but two examples out of literally dozens of pieces of hate speech against primarily Jews and Catholics, but also Evangelical Christians and even prominent African-Americans.
Also, don't forget MoveOn's defamation of General Petraus. Obama's acceptance of MoveOn's endorsement is an insult to this distinguished soldier, and therefore to all Americans who support our men and women in uniform.
(4) Obama supports live birth aborition (not "PARTIAL birth abortion," "LIVE birth abortion"), as shown by his efforts to derail Illinois' Born Alive Infants Protection Act. That will finish him with our state's pro-life movement, and even the pro-choice side isn't going to stand on that hill with him. Pro-choice organizations did not even try to stop the Federal counterpart of this legislation.
Obama is best described as a phony smile on top of an empty suit. His economic plan sounds like Jack Cade's speech from King Henry VI, Part 2. "Hope is a fine appetizer but a miserable dinner."
Quite frankly, I think Ed Rendell should have gotten into this race. He is infinitely more qualified than Obama, and Rendell vs. McCain might have been interesting.
