Bigus signatures challenged

In the 117th Pennsylvania State Rep District the lone Democrat, Russ Bigus, has had some signatures on his nominating petitions challenged. My sources tell me that the challenge is coming from the Boback campaign, surprise. I sent an email to the Boback campaign asking for a statement but they have not yet responded. When (if) they do I will share it with you. I don't have an email address for the Bigus campaign and he doesn't have a website up yet. Please contact me. A call to the Commonwealth Court confirmed that there is a challenge and they provided the name of the person who filed the challenge. I'll hold off naming names until I hear from both sides.

Find out who Elizabeth Sichler is working for, and you'll know whose campaign is behind it.

Every February a groundhog comes out of its hole; and every election cycle ES is trying to get a name off the ballot.

    What's new in NEPA?

    GOOD WORK GORT!!

How is it that we have newsrooms full of drive-by media types and once again it takes a blogger to break a major story?

I wonder which mainstream press reporter will now pick up on this story and try to sell it as his own?

When Sichler and Kopko (who are now working for Boback) did this to Carroll and May last year, it made front page news. Where's the press on this?

Great work to GORT - You make us proud!

  3. This isn't entirely appropriate or related, but I can't help but being reminded of this scene from "Life of Brian"

    Gort,

You should also break the story that Mark Bufalino, head of the LuzCo Dems, got his name in the hat to be a Hillary Clinton delegate. My understanding is that people were circulating petitions for him at Eddie "the Cruiser" Pashinski's event and wouldn't allow folks to circulate petitions for the Obama delegates.
Nice to know, if you are a LuzCo Dem, that your local party has already decided for you which candidate you will be supporting.
    Ehhh, what's new?

Challenges to petitions are not a secret. They are posted on the PA Bureau of Elections webpage (including the names of the challengers) at:

This case is closed. The person who filed against him had second thoughts...Bigus survives. Viva la Bigus!

We should do all we can to keep him in the race. I'd like to see nasty and banal bigus tear into the dumb 'I don't have a clue blonde votes.'

Russ Bigus is a great fit for this seat, he will fight for the district a lot more than Boback has. She has done absoulutly nothing for us in her two years. It is time for her to go!
