Killer trees

WILKES-BARRE Police said Andrew R. Tostevin, 19, of Coopersburg, was found hanging upside down from a tree at North Main and North streets at about 12:36 a.m. Thursday. Police said Tostevin told officers that the tree attacked him. Police said Tostevin was heavily intoxicated and was taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

For some reason this report reminded me of one of Saint Ronny's greatest hits:

Killer Trees.

After opining in August 1980 that "trees cause more pollution than automobiles do," Reagan arrived at a campaign rally to find a tree decorated with this sign: "Chop me down before I kill again."

  1. Dang, I totally missed this one. I love the police blotter. It is one of my main sources of entertainment during the week.

  2. I hope people understand that McCain is full of just as many zingers as St Ronny. From not knowing the difference between Sunni and Shia, to his flippity floppity support of the Bush tax cuts, a McCain administration would have them reeling in the aisles.

Seriously folks, he would be bad for America, even worse than Ronald "What Homeless Problem?" Reagan

  3. Hanging from a tree? Heavily intoxicated? Coopersburg? Most likely one of Father
O'Hara's star pupils populating or taking up space at King's College and its surrounding environs. This young man, my friends, is our future.
