HARRISBURG -- Sen. Robert J. Mellow, D-Peckville, the Pennsylvania State Senate’s longest-serving member and its highest-ranking Democrat, announced today that he will not seek re-election.
“It has been my profound personal honor to serve the citizens of Pennsylvania. It has literally been my life’s work. I am deeply grateful for the trust that my friends and neighbors from northeastern Pennsylvania have shown me by electing and re-electing me to work for them. We have accomplished many great things together,” Mellow said in a statement.
Puff puff pass..the war chest that is.Who'll be the lucky mule?
ReplyDeleteWansacz.
ReplyDeleteWansacz's out, Doherty's in.
ReplyDeleteChris Munley will curb stomp Doherty and it won't even be close.
ReplyDeletewho is chris munley?? the judge's son? i think doherty wins this seat too.
ReplyDeleteNo, Chris is one of the partners at Munley, Munley & Cartwright. His father is one of the most respected men in Northeastern Pennsylvania. His uncle is the Federal Judge. Chris can put up more personal money than Doherty could hope to raise and his name ID is not only tremendous, but overwhelmingly positive, with no political baggage.
ReplyDeleteThe ambulance chasers? No thanks, I'd rather have Mellow still in there.
ReplyDeleteThe people of Lackawanna County had no problem with Tom Munley for Judge. Ask Dan Penetar about that one.
