Barletta looks to the fall

I had a brief chat on the phone today with 11th CD Republican nominee Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta. I didn't record the conversation so his answers are paraphrased but certainly not taken out of context.

After last nights results you must be feeling good about your chances in November.

Five months is an eternity in politics so there is no telling what will happen but I certainly like the numbers. 51% of Democrats voted against Paul Kanjorski and think that is a good indicator. I was surprised by the votes that Brian Kelly got and realize that people may not have bought into his message but just didn't want to vote for Kanjorski or Corey O'Brien. I will be looking to sway his voters and the independents that couldn't vote in the primary. Last time I was supported by many independents and Democrats. I can get those voters again.
.
How is fundraising going?
.
We got some online donors overnight and being part of the Young Guns program has helped a lot. We will have enough money to compete in the fall.
.
I love that picture of you and your grandson Gabriel voting with you.
.
I think it looks like he is telling me who to vote for. You'll be happy to know that I am teaching him to be a Yankees fan. Having a grandchild really makes you think about what government and politics is about. Our responsibility is to leave a better country to him than what we found. Just like our parents did.

In a three way race one only needs about 34 - 35% of the vote to win. Kanjo got 48%. That is a rock solid victory. Barletta just continues to demonstrate he is just a dumb ex-jock lucky to be born into money.
Didn't we learn our lesson with Skrep.

Im a dem but I will vote for neither in November wish their was an indp running. I will not vote for Kanjo because of Mini me. I saw him at the polls and he was just to ignorant and cocky. Someones staff is a reflection of them and Mini me is a look in the mirror. I also didnt like when Kanjo voted against the stimulus plan. I wish he was voted out with Arlen.

And he got those Independents and Democrats to vote for him against their own economic interest by expoliting their racism and fear of Brown people (which I don't understand why they ain't afraid of Louie then 'cause he's also Brown).

I'm no funny boy, but looking at the photo of this fine man with his grandson nearly brought a tear in my eye.
God Bless him. IF all politicians were like MR. Barletta and our sainted Sen. Santorum, the world would not be in the horrible shape it is in.

GUILTY AND PICTURE TO PROVE IT. Honest but Bgot Lou is caught in voter fraud. I see two people voting and I don't think Honest Bigot Lou has "assistance" on his voter registration. I wan't Honest Bgot Lou arrested for violating the voting laws. OK, maybe not arrested but I don't think he is entitled to have Gabriel showing him how to vote and yes, I do realize that Honest Bigot Lou needs assistance and guidance but the law is the law.

From the League of Women Voters in Pennsylvania--the only bigot is you

    VOTERS BILL OF RIGHTS
    YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO:

Get answers to any questions you may have about voting from election personnel
    Vote in private
Vote with a provisional ballot if your name isn't on the precinct list or an election official challenges your eligibility even though you are registered and eligible to vote
Not have inappropriate comments made to you or be hassled
Get help in emergency situations which will allow you to use the voting device
Have assistance if you cannot read or have a disability. You may choose the person to help you (except the judge of elections, your employer or an officer or agent of your union). Need for assistance should be noted on the voter registration card.
Get a replacement ballot if you make a mistake
Vote if you are in line when the polls close
Request an alternative ballot if your polling place is not accessible
----->>>>Take your minor children into the polling place and take one minor child into the voting booth with you.

Anon 4:45 As they say down town, Not for nothing but when Santa comes to town, you might want to ask for two special gifts, Ask for a life and ask for a sense of humor. Even a slow witted guy like me knows that the shot at "Honest Bigot Lou" was a joke. Lighten up dingbat, lighten up.

Whoa big guy. 51% of the people didn't vote AGAINST Kanjorski, those 51% voter FOR their own candidate. Why do Republicans have to twist everything in order to make their silly points? As an old farmer, I can tell you Louie that when the fat lady begins to sing in November those Democratic chickens will come home to roost. There is no way that those who didn't know better two years ago will make that same mistake this year. Washington is on a Democratic role and as dumb as we coal crackers can be, we ain't gonna send a Republican to the Democratic House. The farm boy has spoken.

  12. I will be embarrassed if Barletta represents this area on a national stage. I wish he would move to the Confederacy where he belongs. Lou: move to Arizona. If he wins, they're going to think we're a bunch of hick here up north.

Why should he move to Arizona Dan?? Back that up with something that actually takes some brain usage.
Hey Big Dan, you're one of those people most of us actually feel sorry for. Someone who looks in the mirror and doesn't like what he sees so he trashes other people to try and feel better about himself but late at night when you're trying to sleep you realize it's not working.
    Keep enjoying your life buddy.

How about Kelly stepping out and endorsing Honest Bigot Lou? Now it is clear why Kelly got into the race, didn't spend a nickel, did not campaign and managed to get a few votes. Please don't tell me he got 17% because 17% of nothing is nothing! Kelly was put into the race to pull a few votes away from O'Brien and assuring Honest Begot Lou that his game plan is intact and he will be running against Kanjo. Kelly is a shit without character and that's my humble opinion. Kelly was never a real candidate, he was an Honest Bigot Lou supporter from day one. Shame on those who voted for Kelly, poor saps!

Anon 5:38, please explain why Lou is a bigot?? And I'm asking honestly. Maybe I haven't been following the facts long enough or deep enough. Maybe I'm missing something. So I'm asking for a straight forward answer from anyone with the reasons he's a bigot.
