From Carney Campaign Manager Max Cummings...
"Congressman Carney visits every county in the district multiple times a year and holds townhalls throughout the region. His door is always open to anyone with a question or concern. And as he has in the past, the congressman plans on participating in at least one debate. He has already accepted an invitation to debate at WVIA, giving the forum the broadest reach to voters in the 10th District. Given the constraints of the Congressional schedule and his commitment to fulfilling his active military duty requirement, Congressman Carney feels that the WVIA forum provides an opportunity for a broad number of 10th District residents to understand the differences between the Congressman and his opponent."

Another Milk Carton Democrat
I think Carney is being smart. It's typical that challengers what lots of debates and incumbents don't want to elevate thier opponent to thier preceived level - Why they call themselves Congressman Carney - not Mister Carney.
Secondly, with the dumb comments Carney made in his debate with Hackett on WVIA, I'm surprised he chose to do it again.
Marino better be careful or he might get what he asks for and he will be forced to answer some questions. He has been like a turtle hiding in his shell ever since people started asking him to produce the letter he wrote is support of DeNaples gaming license. He may think it’s honorable to stand behind his friend but folks are going to question his ethics if he is willing to support someone convicted of federal crimes while serving as US Attorney. With all the public corruption going on around here we don’t need a guy whose loyalty is to his friends over those he represents.
