Kanjo on the air

Congressman Paul Kanjorski has his first ad hitting the airwaves in which he comes out swinging at Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta

I asked the Barletta camp for a response:

Two months from the election and Kanjorski is leading with a negative commercial? That shows how desperate he is.

If Kanjorski wants to debate taxes or unemployment, we'll be happy to – oh, that's right, he refuses to debate or hold town meetings with his constituents.

Kanjorski has voted for the biggest job-crushing and tax-hiking bills in history – Obamacare and Cap and Trade.

Kanjorski continues to offer nothing to the voters of this district. There’s no reason to re-elect him, either by his actions as a congressman or in his commercials, so he's trying to smear Lou Barletta.

Lou Barletta received the Governor's Award for Fiscal Responsibility and Best Management Practices and was selected as the Best Mayor in Pennsylvania by his peers in 2008. Lou was re-elected as mayor with 90 percent of the vote. Who is a better judge of Lou Barletta's job as mayor - the voters of Hazleton or a career Washington politician?

Sounds like the Barletta campaign is a little worried that people might find out what shape Lou has put the city of Hazleton in. Out of money and no jobs but lots of tax increases. I would be worried too if that is the best I had to offer. At least Kanjorski is trying to bring jobs to the area.

Funny but nowhere in that response by Barletta's communication coordinator does he say what Kanjorski is airing is false!!!

SO he can talk about Kanjo but lets not forget what Barletta has done:

    70% property tax increase
    20% earned income tax hike
    15.6% unemployment rate

i wonder when conservative Republicans read this about Barletta do they see a conservative Republican or just a lousy Mayor?

If Lou wins it will be the anti incumbent movement and he will be a one termer.

Interesting ad. Kanjo must be down at least 10 and be well below the magic 50% to start like this. Money advantage is going to play big - we'll see if Kanjo has enough.

Last election he had a lot of help from special interest groups - but with his vote against Sallie Mae recentely, and how that has cost our region jobs, he's not likely to get some of that special interest spending.

Lastly, Barletta made a major mistake with his stance on the 1,000 jobs. He needs to think through his positions better.

Mid term elections can go either way. With Obama's popularity in the tank all Lou may have to do is stay scandal free until November. But ya never know... Big rumor out there, if it has any validity and comes to life bye bye Louie

It's not that Mr. Kanjorski is going to lose, it's by how large a margin he is going to lose.
