Romney just lost the election, again

I'm hard pressed to think of a Presidential campaign that has been this inept. Is it the curse of Massachusetts? John Kerry and Michael Dukakis ran poor campaigns but it wasn't because they scored so many own goals like Romney but the lack of response to the Republicans beating the shit of them and looked weak. No, I think you have to go back to the 1972 McGovern campaign's botching the VP pick and a hundred other stupid moves.

This video from David Corn in Mother Jones is all the buzz.

Romney Tells Millionaire Donors What He REALLY Thinks of Obama Voters

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.

"[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

KOS:

To recap:
  1. Romney falsely claimed that 47 percent of all Americans are complete freeloaders.
  2. It turns out two-thirds of that 47 percent still pay federal taxes. (As it turns out, they actually probably pay a higher rate than Romney.)
  3. Of the remaining one-third who don't pay any federal taxes at all, more than half are elderly Americans who have already paid plenty of taxes.

BoBo of all people shoots down this nonsense

 Thurston Howell Romney

Romney, who criticizes President Obama for dividing the nation, divided the nation into two groups: the makers and the moochers...This comment suggests a few things. First, it suggests that he really doesn’t know much about the country he inhabits. Who are these freeloaders? Is it the Iraq war veteran who goes to the V.A.? Is it the student getting a loan to go to college? Is it the retiree on Social Security or Medicare?....The people who receive the disproportionate share of government spending are not big-government lovers. They are Republicans. They are senior citizens. They are white men with high school degrees

Reading my Republican friends on Facebook and cruising the right wing blogs it's apparent they love this from Romney. Vodka swilling welfare Queens driving Cadillacs are bleeding the country dry.  I know people that get public assistance such as Medicaid and Food Stamps and they all tell me it SUCKS!

Then there is the Politico story.

Inside the campaign: How Mitt Romney stumbled

You usually see a story like this after the election. The Romney camp knows they are going to lose so the knives are coming out early.

Bain Capitol moved jobs to China

From Buzzfeed

  And this one

Mitt Romney's Mexican Roots; His Father Was Born In Mexico, Could Choose Dual Citizenship

The NY Post reports that Romney made his remarks at this guy's place

Nude frolic in tycoon's pool

That should go over well with "values voters."

DN:  Former presidential contender Rick Santorum told a group of social conservatives this weekend that the country's "smart people" will never be on their side.

From what I read the Romney campaign thinks that they can win the election by running up the score with white working class males. Sorry to disappoint the GOP and the pollsters but I'm a white working class male that will vote for the President.

...let us not forget, gang, that Obama considers Republicans bitter clingers.

Meanwhile, the robust economic recovery requires QE3.

The Administration is flat out lying about what happened in Libya.

The Taliban is ratcheting up while we ratchet down.

Unemployment remains above 8%, the economy is grinding to a halt, and gas continues to rise. We're not even creating enough jobs to match population growth, and the jobs that are being created pay poorly. Can you say barista, college grads? Sure you can: it's right there on your pay stub, somewhere above your taxes.

On Election Day it will be all about the economy. The guy in the big chair has failed. Utterly. There will be crazed hand-wringing when Romney wins as liberals try to figure out what went wrong. I'm gonna get me a big bag o'peanuts and watch Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews implode on live TV.

Maybe I'll watch from that Internet cafe down the street. Hey, miss, yes, you with the PhD... can I have a mocha latte with whipped cream???

  3. Yeah: unemployment is at 9% and 2 years ago we "elected" a Republican governor who said there'd be a "fracking boom" to lower unemployment, a Republican congressman Barletta, ANOTHER Republican congressman Marino, and a Republican senator Toomey. So, if Obama is somehow responsible for 9% unemployment in Pa., why do we elect Pennsylvania officials at all?

    And where's that FRACKING BOOM?

NOW...we all know that if unemployment ACTUALLY WENT DOWN IN PA., Barletta/Marino/Toomey/Corbett would be the ones who did it! Right?

Republicans love to accuse others of what they themselves do: PASSING THE BUCK AND NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY.

Can you imagine if people took responsibility for nothing more than their health and well-being how much healthcare costs would drop in this country? From the fat fucks, to the drunken slothes, to the smokers... each and everyone of them is a bleed on the system. They are the one's you drive the costs higher and higher. Obama's answer is to force us at gunpoint to support them with our money because they chose not to take responsibility for themselves.
Romney is correct and trying to convince the dependent class in this nation is not worth any effort whatsoever. Obama believes from each according to their ability to each according to their needs. It is a fundamental difference in ideology.

According to the Census Bureau, 49% of Americans in the second quarter of 2011 lived in a household where at least one member received a government benefit.

  10. "49% of Americans in the second quarter of 2011 lived in a household where at least one member received a government benefit."

What part of that 49% were made up of...

... retirees receiving Social Security benefits after have paid into the system for a lifetime?

... veterans and their dependents who receive military pensions, disability payments or educational support?

... employees of the Federal government?

Making up statistics and plastering labels onto people...by both Obama and Romney...proves and solves noting.

The stat was from the wall st journal. As far as people paying "into" social security, that is the biggest fraud and myth out there. Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, nothing more and nothing less. People who came into the system first are paid out by money put into the system later. It should be discontinued and people who are frugal and wise will have their money when they retire. Those that aren't won't and if they can't afford to live, then let them perish and decrease the surplus population.

  12. "Those that aren't won't and if they can't afford to live, then let them perish and decrease the surplus population."

Ballsy word coming from someone who doesn't have the courage to sign their own name.

As for Social Security being a "Ponzi" scheme, that's incorrect. It's technically an insurance program...so just like your own insurance premiums are paid into an insurance company general account, the Social Security contributions are paid into a trust account run by the government. With life insurance, benefits are paid from the insurance company general account; with Social Security, benefits are paid from the trust account. The notion that Social Security is some kind of government 401k plan where you get your contributions + interest is simply false...it was never meant to be anything of the sort.

By the way, does this mean that private life insurance is a "Ponzi scheme" too?

Solvency is the real Social Security issue though, as the program has been expanded beyond what it can actually support.

Yes, all insurances are, in fact a form of a ponzi scheme. Like S.S. they are legal, unlike S.S. they are voluntary. No one is forced to purchase insurance, well until obamacare goes into effect.

Freedom is much more than simply freedom to move around. Freedom is the the ability to succeed or fail based upon ones own actions inaction, decision or indecision.

To give to someone, means taking from someone else. When one enters a business arrangement they take on the risk. When the government does it, they do it my force, doling out punishments to include prison for noncompliance.

You are 100% correct about solvency which is actually another way S.S. is a Ponzi schemes. Most Ponzi schemes fail once there are not enough new "investors" to support the older "investors." Maddoff wasn't brought down my any type of intensive investigation. His legitimate investments took a beating and not enough new people were coming in at the beginning of the recession. If that did not occur, the older investors would have continued to get their "divined" checks and be completely, blissfully unaware.
S.S. is something that is, in my opinion, simply unamerican. It forces people to care for other people. Taking from one group to give to the commune.

  15. Incorrect "Anonymous".

A Ponzi scheme is that by design..its intent is to swindle; Social Security is the way it is via poor legislation & execution...its intent though is still positive and beneficial to society.

    Big Difference.

By the way, all insurance is a Ponzi scheme? Damn, no wonder you don't want to use your real name. Do the Jews control the media too? Care to enlighten us about the Illuminati?
