The Carney campaign shoots back

The allegation:

As a candidate for Congress in 2006, Candidate Carney filled out a Project Vote Smart survey that said he supported an immediate citizenship for illegal aliens if they paid their back taxes, leaned English, and gained employment (see attached).

Candidate Carney's plan would amount to amnesty for those who came here illegally. It also lacked any kind of touch back provision or fine, making it even more liberal than the recent bill considered by the Senate to grant amnesty

Here's what Chris Carney actually wrote:

Border Security is National Security. As a counterterrorism expert, I am extremely concerned about our porousborders. I do not support amnesty - we cannot reward illegal behavior but we need to provide a way for illegals to earn citizenship by paying back taxes, learning English, and obtaining gainful employment. Mr. Meuser's staff left out the phrase "I do not support amnesty - we cannot reward illegal behavior" and instead inserted immediate citizenship, which is not in the section Rep. Carney wrote at all. They purposely omitted the phrase "I do not support amnesty" and inserted his own phrase "immediate citizenship."

  1. what is the difference- immediate citizenship is amnesty. Congressman Carney is once agian playing with the words (AKA Bill clinton- define is). You filled out the survey and wanted to reward people with citizenship if they paid there back taxes, learned english, and got a job. If i rob a bank and then i return the money am I now innocent and will not be put in jail? I think not. Congressman Carney start acting like a Congressman and defend your record. Remember your record speaks loudest of all.

  2. A point to remember; US Congressman and Lieutenant Commander Chris Carney runs on his record.

Damn Meuser runs from his own record.

With a straight shooting Conservative Democrat like US Congressman and Lieutenant Commander Chris Carney we need Chris Hackett on the ticket in the fall.
    Best wishes,

Barry- You simpleton- Carney ran against Sherwoods record including the choking incident. He must stand up and defend everything he has filled out and voted on. That is called a record. Carney says one thing but acts another way- Example-

    1. he says he does not want amnesty but the survey he filled out before he was a Congressman says he would give citizenship to illegals if they pay there back taxes, learn to speak english, and get a job. Then they can move ahead of legal immigrants and get citizenship- This is AMNESTY,
    2. He says he is pro life- Then why does the pro life federation rate him at a 17 out of 100. That is because he says one thing and then acts and votes the other way.
    3. I have seen your name all over this blog and I thought you were a Republican but it seems you are supporting Carney with that little puff piece.
