New row officers staff up

As first reported by Mark Luzerne County Controller-elect Walter Griffith
has selected Frank Pinnacoli to be deputy controller and Thomas Mosca as his new solicitor.

Pinnacoli has a BA in accounting from Kings College and has had a number of jobs the last few years. Price Waterhouse Coopers in New York City, CTSI in Dallas Acton Technologies Inc. in Pittston , Pella Products Inc. in Dunmore. Pinnacoli currently owns NEPA Accounting & Consulting Inc. in Kingston, a business he started with his father.

He replaces acting Controller AJ Martinelli who has to answer questions about his involvement with former Human Resources Director Doug Richards and the Continental Consultants Group. Earlier this year the Citizens Voice had a story about the no bid contract with Continental Consultants and I wrote about it in January. Not even the Commissioners knew what is going on let alone our clueless former Controller and present Commissioner Chairwoman. Why it took 10 months to expose this fraud is something all 3 commissioners and the acting controller have to answer for when all the information was in the public record. This should have been addressed long before the FBI had to figure it out for them. Martinelli also made the Idiot Watch with his spectacular pants falling down “Give me a break” DUI arrest performance.

Sam Stretton will be the solicitor when Carolee Medico Olenginski returns to the Luzerne County Prothonotary’s Office in January. Stretton was her solicitor the first time she held the office and later was the solicitor for former Controller Steve Flood who first blew the whistle on the Juvie Brothers and the 20 year lease of PA Child Care "negotiated" by the Bond Brothers. Primary Controller candidate Bob Sypniewski will be her deputy. Bob has previously said he would put his business interest on the back burner and work full time for the county.

Carolee has yet to name her interior decorator.

So much for transparency in government. Did anyone see this job posted or did Walter just follow the old rules and hire a friend? He complains about the lack of investigation work done and I'm wondering if a criminal records check was done? Contacting an employer will offer no info as the only comment allowed by law is that the person was employed. How about personal written refference from former employers? So here is one Walter didn't think of, His hero Stee Flood had two deputies so why didn't he do as he said he would and keep Martinelli on and review his work? Walter could have also appointed his mud pie buddy Pinnacoli as his second deputy. Then the taxpayers would have at least one person in the Controller's office who knows what he is doing. Oh well, business as usual.

Anyone know what other business Carolee's new deputy makes a living at? By what method was his home removed from last February's sheriff's sale?

perhaps walter could have kept martinelli on so he could show him how to get drunk and fall out of the car with his pants down...or maybe he could show him how to bypass the commissioners with checks and send them off to human resouces, as reported in the media! Yeah, just what the county needs!! Get real, its about time this place gets cleaned out and put in QUALIFIED accounting staff, that of which was fired in the previous administration. Oh, but then we wouldn't continue to have corruption continue if we did that would we?

The job cant be posted because Griffith is not the Controller yet until Jan 2010 and A J Martinelli is still the Controller.do you think A J will advertise his own position. think about it. I am in the office working everyday and A J is a good person but Walter has the right idea. I think some of you people on these blogs should stop critisizing everyone and give them a chance to do something different for a change.

12:32 AM -- right, allow Walter to do something different. What the hell is different about hiring a buddy, especially a job hopping buddy. People can say all they want about ambition but in the real world, this guy would be looked at as unstable. You make no sence at all. Walter isn't in office so he could not advertise for the job but he can make a public announcement that he is firing Martinelli and has chosen his replacement? WTF? You said youwork in that office and I belive you because I have a friend who also works there and was told that Marinelli is an outstanding and fair boss who knows his job

12:32, good move, looks like you're sucking up early.

8:21, What kind of asshole are you? The guy had one DUI so let's cut his balls off. If it wwere you, you would have been on your kneeds kissing the cop's ass or any other part of his body he wanted to get out of a DUI. How professional was that cop's report? What did Martinelli's pants sliding off his belly and falling to his knees have to do with the traffic stop? Just another part of the F-um culture we live in. Just look at how many people on this blog are so quick to throw dirt on other people. There are some interesting postings on this blog and then there are nassty assholes like you who don't miss a chance to throw a stone. Just remember Christ's words about casting the first stone. You will get what you give so give it some thought and as what Jesus would do.

ANON 3:20
the corrupt you are sheilding should find your words of wisdom ...immediately. Furthur, you should practice what you preach, your post is in fact casting stones. Also, calling someone an asshole just shows your lack of maturity and inability to adhere to your own words. lol
p.s. i had a dui for your information and asked for no favors, took it like a man and paid my debt. Glad it happend I may have killed someone if i continued to get away with it. may God bless the ignorant.

10:38 Nice to see you learned from your DUI but I'm wondering how many people wanted you fired from your job because you got drunk?
