Sherwood is having a fundraiser on September 11th

Is this guy as dumb as a box of rocks or sharp as a loaf of bread?

Congressman Don Sherwood is having a fundraiser on September 11, 2006 in Towanda that is being hosted by a couple of special interest PAC’s. It’s a bargain; you can buy a Congressman for only a couple of hundred bucks.

In the primary he sent out a direct mail piece attacking Kathy Scott by name when nobody knew he even had an opponent.

Now this.

When every other politician in America is going to be in Washington, New York or a field in western Pennsylvania this guy is going to be raising money.

What a prick.

Gort, you need to get this out and make sure the big bloggers pick up on it.

why does someone have to stop what they are doing on September 11th? We remember what happened. Of course this is the fifth anniversary but seriously. I agree that Sherwood should be doing something else but the reality is that we didn't commemerate Oklahoma City and if you can honestly tell me the day that it happened w/o looking it up then kudos to you. Now what day was Oklahoma City?

April 19, 1997. And I didn't look it up. I remember because I lost many co-workers that day.

You don't have to stop what you are doing, but you do have to show some respect for those who were lost, for those who lost their loved ones, and for those whose lives will never be whole.

This is just politics at its worst.

Gort, this has nothing to do with this post. Just saying that we should all be sad. Steve Irwin aka (Croc Hunter) is dead. He got killed by a stingray. I always thought it would be by a funnel web spider.

Sherwood canceled the fundraiser...it was not scheduled by him.....Congerssman Sherwood was at a 9/11 service that night whre he dedicated a memorial to a fallen soldier, after which he headed back to Washington.

Not to be outdone- soon-to-be-former-State Senate President Pro Tem Bob Jubelirer DID go ahead and have his fundraising golf-outing on 9/11, with some 60 golfers attending - and just 40 miles or so away from Shanksville!!!

When asked about it - his spokesman in Harrisburg said he "probably didn't give it (9/11) ,uch thought"). No wonder he was defeated in the primary!

Man, that's precisely why selfish pols like Sherwood and Jubelirer gotta go!
