Phyllis fights for flood funding from feds

CV: Frustrated by a lack of funds to fix stream damage from the June flood, State Rep. Phyllis Mundy (D-Kingston) and her Democratic colleagues from Northeastern Pennsylvania are taking their argument to Washington....The NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection program can help clear debris, stabilize eroded stream banks and purchase floodplain easements, according to the NRCS Web site. Mundy said the program does not currently have the funds to do that work. “Apparently FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) has money for emergency situations, but they’re not allowed to repair stream damage. NRCS is allowed to repair stream damage, but has no money,” she said.

Sounds like a catch-22. Sorry about the headline.

Mundy had her chance to go to Washington, she could have ran against Sherwood. Oh wait she was too scared to actually have to do something that may have meant she would have lost. Wouldn't it have been better for the Dem Party to nominate a woman?
