Paul Kanjorski (D-PA 11) was only one of 11 Democrats to vote against President Obama's economic stimulus bill. He said "We face the most challenging economic crisis since the Great Depression, yet this bill merely throws money at the problem by expanding existing programs...Had we reached this bill through a more orderly, bipartisan basis, I very well may have cast my vote for it."
Kanjo has been pushing the idea of bringing back the Nixon Revenue Sharing Program that provides local governments with money with no strings attached.
Chris Carney (PA-10) and the rest of the Pennsylvania Democratic delegation voted for it.

Stimulus bill moves us closer to nationalized health care and rationing
The House of Representatives approved an $819 billion economic stimulus package Wednesday. The party line vote was a blow to Barack Obama's alleged desire for bipartisanship. All the Republicans and 11 democrats voted against the bill. One thing in the bill that went mostly unnoticed was a new bureaucracy called the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research.
Looks as if Kanjo is running again in '10; playing it safe, afraid of the Corbett/Barletta crowd. Yes, definitely running again.
How can anybody be afraid of a blow hard sensationalist like Corbett? Barletta I agree with you on.
RE: FORREST G: I agree with you that Stevo is a blowhard sensationalist, but mostly I am referring to his audience. It consists mostly of dimwits who will believe anything he tells them.
He went after Specter for telling a Polish joke, but has a continuing bit where he sings a song "Lets Call the Baby Kielbasa". What hypocricy! Does any of his audience call him on it???
Corbett calls himself a "radical liberal", but doesn't attack any Republicans. So, what exactly is he pulling? IE: Corbett says he's a "radical liberal"...but isn't. It's as plain as day. He's a Republican with a big, long, gray ponytail.....who says he's a "radical liberal". Just be honest, Steve! Who you tryin' ta kid?
He's always talking about Louis DeNaples, too. He's obsessed with him. He should call his show: "The Louis DeNaples Show".
Play the drinking game with how many times Corbett says "community".
Corbett is the "radical liberal" who votes Republican! Yay! Yippee! Does he think everyone's stupid???
Also, he says "GO-uh-nuh" instead of "going to".
"I'm 'GO-uh-nuh' have Louis DeNaples on the show"
He's trying to "trick" everyone - right and left. He made fools out of righties when he first started his show, by portraying himself as a leftie with the illegal immigration issue. Then he made fools of lefties when he voted for McCain and only bashes Democrats. So, basically, he's made fools of everyone with his snake-oil show coming to town.
And NO ONE should trust him. Corbett cares only about Corbett.
All local WILK local talk is all radical liberal. Sue Henry as much as I like her, is still far from conservative and is a socialist, especially when it comes to unions.
We need a really good local talk show instead of that rag-tag bunch.
"Corbett cares only about Corbett."
That is the key statement. He will say or write whatever it takes, regardless of accuracy, to get listeners. He is nothing more than a shill, a poor man's Rush Limbaugh w/o the ability to entertain.
He is self righteous, dictatorial, self absorbed and demonstrates time and time again that he is uninformed.
And if I hear anymore about his brilliant career as a journalist I'm going to puke. If you call his show and don't share his opinion either expect to be ridiculed or expect to be cut off and not be able to get your point across.
Gort, I and all your loyal fans appreciate this forum to express ourselves and not worry about censorship or condemnation.
We all have an opinion and its nice to be able to share it. Opposition is wonderful also.
A response to Pope George Ringo's post: You never get the opportunity to call Corbett on anything because if you do the "baby" will cut you off.
I hope Corbett reads this post to see how true open forum is supposed to work.
On yesterday's show Corbett took a shot at you, my dear commenters. He said he had a higher standard than local bloggers who allow anonymous comments that make accusations against public officials. For the record I want to say that I have always deleted any comment that accused someone of a crime without proof as soon as I became aware of it.
G, I think he is trying to get us to call his show.
I literally laughed out loud yesterday when he called himself Corbetty in a promo slot. That is the exact name I called him when he was in his feminist outrage mode.
Recently a new local blogger quit posting because they said I allowed somebody to post comments that were mean. If someone has a problem with any of the comments on this site all you have to do is point it out and I would consider deleting them. Just email me.
If you're going to be a blogger you better have a thick skin. One of my colleagues has been called a racist and I've had all sorts of things thrown at me. Another local scribe more or less accused me of me being a druggie because I object to urine testing. And the Mean Old Man is always calling me a Communist.
Gort, Keep up the good work. And for all of you who think you are well versed in law, you can NOT get in trouble for sharing your opinion no matter how outrageous it is. It is your opinion and not a formal accusation. Also, Corbett's show was the reason for my previous post. He pisses me off but I can't stop listening, just like Limbaugh. He pisses me off but I can't stop listening.
