Chuck for Senate

Chuck was in the area and I'm warming up to him.

WILKES-BARRE —-The 2006 U.S. Senate race is about more than beating incumbent Rick Santorum, Dr. Chuck Pennacchio believes.

It is about issues, values, reclaiming the Democratic party, taking back the country, strengthening the Constitution, and rebuilding burnt bridges with other nations, he said. Pennacchio is confident he can beat Santorum in November to become Pennsylvania’s first Democratic senator in 44 years. He isn't worried about state Treasurer Bob Casey Jr., the more high-profile contender for the Democratic nomination, either, despite what he said were attempts by the Democratic Leadership Conference and the state Democratic party to shut down Pennacchio’s candidacy.

He is finding that Democrats are more upset with their own party than with the Republicans, because the Democratic Party is being taken over by corporate interests and won't stand up for its own values."I don’t have to start a fire. There already is a fire," said Pennacchio, who describes himself as a "Main Street" rather than 'Wall Street" Democrat.

Compared to Bobby "me too" Casey it's an easy choice. Casey is an empty suit with a lot of money. Can anyone say Bush? Somehow the national Democratic Party thinks all they have to do is nominate a pro-life Democrat that is supposed to be liberal on economic issues to take on Santorum. We tried that and Klink went Klunk.

I know money is a big issue but if Chuck knocks of Casey he will be a rock star. He will get the money, but not from corporations. The liberal blogs will go all out for him and the usual Democractic donors will follow.

Klink was not the leadership choice and I wish people would stop suggesting that he was. The leadership choice was Foley but the primary was so over crowded that the only guy from the Western part of the state won. It became a geographic candidate race.

Klink was nominated by like 30% of the party. Casey will be nominated by like 75% of the party. Big difference in how the base is united.

This is the same attitude that continues to sink Democratic candidates. Pennsylvania is not a state which will elect a liberal candidate for the US Senate--the days of Dick Schweiker are long gone. It does not matter to me if Bob Casey is wealthy, or if he is pro-life; what matters to me is that Bob Casey is a Democrat and Rick Santorum is Rick Santorum. If by some miracle Pennachio is nominated the joy in Republican eyes would be seen from outer space. Think about it; they had a field day with Col. KLink--imagine opposing a candidate called Pinnochio! These may seem like trivial points but in reality things like this can damage a candidate immensely. I laugh with glee to the fact that Bob Casey is pro life--not because I am pro life but because it is an issue that the Santorum camp cannot wedge against him. We have a potential for a major upset--who knows what can happen between now and November. It looks pretty good now, however. Let us not rock the boat.

I'm angrier than Howard Dean at a Bush Fan Club meeting over the scumbags that the Communist infiltrated Democratic Party has dug up to try to smear our Sainted Senator Santorum!! First of all, this Casey guy--what a twirphead! He wants us to think that he's some kind of selfless guy! Yeah right! When his daddy needed a liver did Bobby boy give him one of his--NO! I remember when my wife Thelma Jean's sister Gertie needed a kidney transplant--she was the first one at the hospital with flowers! Gertie never did get her kidney, but THelma Jean faints at the site of a needle--but it was the thought that counts and she ISN"T running for the Senate--take that you heathen academy award worshipping hollywood junkie liberals!!! Then we have that other anarchist Pinnochio running--just what we need for politics today--a politician named after a famous lying brat!! Well, at least he's upfront about it--he and Casey should have a nose growing contest with Hillary Clinton--now that would be some worthy TV viewing!!! ANyway, it doesn't surprise me that the Commie idol worshiper that runs this site is in favor of Pinnochio for the Senate--I never met a red that I could trust--just don't ever let me see one of them within ten miles of the city limits--Thelma Jean's pie roller is on the counter waiting and willing to cleanse some Socialist liberal minds! You liberals are so anti-christian--trying to get Jesus and his teachings out of our culture--GOD I HATE YOU ALL!!!!!

About that glee in republicans eyes. Heres the thing Bob looses 35% of his support once people know where he stands on the choice issue in the Quinnipiac poll. So don't start laughing yet.

Also PA has moved more progressive with everyone wanting universal health care and living wage.

Also about your statement that Bob is a Democrat. Well he is against universal health care, pulling out of Iraq, stem cell research, gay rights (according to his statements to church group surveys), and wont support a minimum wage. He supports the death penalty. He is unopposed to the ten commandments being displayed in public buildings. Hes against gun control and will not support living wage legislation.

The thing is all of those issues are exactly the same as Santorum. When everyone learns just a few of them he attracts 3.9% or Republicans in the Zogby poll. If he gets that much in the general he will get embarrased. Again
