Nanticoke-area Attorney Vito DeLuca is running for District Attorney and so is First Assistant District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll . Both CV articles are full of quotes from local political guru Ed Mitchell pointing out the obvious saying if Dave Lupas decides to seek re-election they will both bow out. I got news for you Ed, Dave Lupas is running for Judge. Like you don't already know that and haven't drawn up the campaign plan. It should be a nice piece of change as you also know he spent 750 grand on his first run for DA.
Back to the announced candidates. Lupas' deputy with the 3 names, Jackie Musto Carroll- Musto, where have I heard that before?-has announced her intention to run for the top spot in the office. What a record to defend. A nice Irish name like Vito DeLuca is hard to resist. He has a life of trial experience and has been a public defender. More to come.

Ed Mitchell runs the table this year, he draws up winning plans for; Lupas for Judge, Carroll-Musto for DA, and with some luck maybe Ray Hassay/Virginia Augello for County Commissioners if that ticket comes together. The row offices othewise should stay the same unless we have a motivated individual who wants to knock off dead wood for 36,500 a yr. Remember as much as we like change sometimes its better to know the devils who will be serving us.
I promise you that he doesn't run the table this year. It will all be clear in a few weeks.
Mitchell is NOT with Skrep/Petrilla. Jim McNulty is handling the race. Skrep hates Mitchell.
Tom O'Connor is the odds on favorite for Judge. He is going all-in this time with $500k personal cash. He came very close to Toole last time, and he's going to rip Lupas apart on TV. Rumor is that Carney's campaign manager is with him.
Skrep/Petrilla is being done by Jim McNulty and Jim is also doing Tom O'Connor's campaign. So this year we will have the McNulty vs Mitchell showdown in several campaigns but don't look for the Dem organization to offer much help regardless of the fluffy pieces the CV will write about a new era of getting committee people involved.

If he gets elected, he'll have to take a bunch of bench trials to make up that cash outlay.
Mitchell and McNulty hate each other.
McNulty is a snake-oil salesman. His work sucks. It's almost as bad as Mitchell's.
This is Great. First of all Lupas is a lock for Judge. He had a rally this year attended by thousands. Most people on the street love Lupas. Noone even knows O'Connor or his rich brother here. Musto-Carroll is a refreshing change in NEPA politics a motivated and experienced woman. This election season will be a snoozer because Lupas and Carroll are locks. Selenski is on the ropes thanks to the new DA's on the case. Deluca is in over his head.
How come those young district attorneys taht are always on tv or the paper running like Ferentino or Doherty? No politcal ambition, not what I hear? What gives?
