What a storm
I arrived home last night to find that the internet and many cable channels on the telly had been knocked out by the electrical storm that went through the area during the evening. Thus I wasn't able to post or watch my favorite talking head shows. Thankfully no tornadoes touched down in the vicinity. I blame Al Roker.

What with all of the tripe that is being broadcast on television lately it seems that the new program which we shall now be subjected to is "Tornado Watch". Students, this is a program where the local talking heads of the liberal media take the time to interrupt your normal tv tripe to scare the wits out of you for no reason whatsover.
I was prepared to watch one of the few worthwhile TV programs "Jeopardy" when I was forced to endure more than an hour of a map of NEPA with colors and schemes that would make Picasso dizzy.
I guess that sensationalism in the media has now reached out and placed its cancer on the meteorolocical category.
Did anyone truly expect that Schuykill or Luzerne counties (among others) was going to be hit by a tornado?!?
I pray to god that this is not going to be a staple of this summer's television viewing.
THen again, in our instant coffee type world we live in--where we care more about the latest hollywood harlet than our own country, why should I be surprised at all of this nonsense.

Milburn, the more you rant the more unstable you appear to be. So you see no need to have an early warning system because there is no chance of a Tornado? OK, now I feel better knowing that what has been reported as tornados during the past several years were not real and the people killed actually died of natural causes. I think it was an unbelievable coincidence when the grandmother and grandson were both killed ..... oops, died of natural causes simultaneously at the same location which by the way suffered major structural failures and collapsed at the very same time that both were dying of natural causes. Thanks again for your outstanding commentary which serves to enlighten us all. You're dismissed.

I see NO problem young man, if the local weathermen wish to place a strip on the bottom of the screen warning of a possible tornado in a specific county.
I do, however, find it to be a tad bit sensationalistic to see these talking heads acting as if the world is coming to an end.
Students, in particular you journalism majors, the difference between a carnival barker and a anchorman is minimal at best.
Both wish to grab your attention with a bottle of useless swill.
I do understand that tornado warnings in true tornado states, such as Kansas and Missouri (and we all mourn the losses) are relevant.
But really students, is not wasting valuable airtime over a tornado warning in the Scranton Wilkes-Barre market ridiculous??? We may as well interrupt programming for a volcanic ash warning...
