Reassessment in Luzerne County gets ugly

Nobody wants to pay more property taxes but you have to keep your emotions in check and not make threats. But the opposition keeps being stoked by the downtrodden people at Harveys Lake and some radio talk show hosts.

Is the fourth house McCain's?

Yeah, I think that's house #6 or maybe #7. I can't remember. It might be #4. He'll have to get back to us.

To be fair to McCain ask any politician what stocks and other investments they hold, how many shares, and what is the total value. I am sure they will have to call their broker(s) for a synopsis of their account(s). There is no secret that McCain's wife is independently wealthy. Don't fall for the smoke and mirrors game.

Stocks and bonds maybe difficult, but you usually don't buy and settle on a house everyday like the stock market. So I'm not buying the stock and bonds smoke and mirrors.

Nice try anonymous.

Coal Region Voice,

I totally agree with you. I have bought and sold several houses in my day and when my grandfather passed away; I was aware of all of the properties I inherited. I don't care how old you are, if you can't remember the amount and location of the properties you own you don't represent the middle class that's for sure. I believe that is the whole point here.

Also, the stocks and bonds excuse is totally irrelevant, they are a different type of investment and sometimes diversified so much it is hard to keep track of.

I think ALL of those properties are owned by Mccain. Though I'm not sure.

Seriously, I'd like to think that there are very few people in the country who don't know how many properties they own. Even slumlords know exactly what they own - maybe especially slumlords. Flippers, too. The only people who I could imagine losing track would be the über-rich who, like Joe Walsh, have acountants pay for it all.

Yet at the same time, one of McCain's latest ads starts off with "When you're the biggest celebrity in the world, you don't have to worry about...", empasizing Obama's wealth. I guess when you ditch your first wife to marry an incredibly wealthy beauty queen (who is apparently running for First Lady of the ever-shrinking nation of Georgia), you don't have to worry about how you're going to pay next month's mortgage.

Has anyone noticed that "I was a P.O.W." (recently pulled out as a way of deflecting the issue of whether McCain is filthy rich or just senile) has become McCain's version of Giuliani's "9-11"? Good thing that the Repubs have only shown the utmost respect for everyone who served in Vietnam, so McCain is safe from - oh, wait. Al Gore, John Kerry, Max Cleland, James Stockdale...Purple Heart recipients in general...never mind, Mr. McCain. It's all fair game.

Dammit. I should get a blog of my own and post this stuff there.
