Carney on the air

There is another guy running for Congress in Pennsylvania's 10th District that hasn't got much attention lately. He's been busy doing boring stuff like passing laws to expand veterans health care benefits provide tax cuts to for middle-class families and resisting cuts in Medicare. While Meuser and Hackett continue to tear each other apart his message is simple, go vote this Tuesday. He's going to be tough to beat.

"Vote"

A bruising primary battle is notthing new, just ask Hilary & Barack.

Whoever emerges, and I'm predicting it will be Dan in a big way, will be battle tested and ready to begin a campaign against Carney.

Carney, the future former congressman, should try to relax and console himself with the knowledge that even 1 term in a heavily republican district was an accomplishment.

Enjoy the nice spring weather everyone.

Adios

I think Carney by 7 points in November, a bigger victory than with Sherwood.

I know at least 7 Republicans who voted for Sherwood in 2006, but are planning to write-in Carney on Tuesday and vote for him in November.

He's done great by our region. He's the real deal.

You heard it here first.

Do Pennsylvania voters know that
Reps. Patrick Murphy took a $18,826.00 "donation" from Barack Obama prior to endorsing him?
I think that taints his endorsement more than alittle bit and sells out the voters of Pennsyvania that havent even been able to vote yet.

Do Pennsylvania voters know that Barack Obama has "donated" huge sums to Pennsylvania's Super Delegates? Talk about back room politics. Is he trying to buy votes from Super Delegates and take votes away from Pennsyvania voters?

Why are some Pennsylvania Super Delegates taking huge sums of money from someone they have to cast a vote on? Is that like paying the judge before the verdict? Pennsylvania Rep. Patrick Murphy took $18,826.00 from Barack Obama before he endoresed Barack Obama, kinda puts his endorsement in question. There are more Pennsylvania politicians taking BIG MONEY from Barack Obama for their Super Delegate votes and Pennsylvania voters have not even been able to vote yet.

back to Carney. I find it curious that unlike several of his fellow PA congressmen he refuses to stand up for one of the candidates for President.

Is it that he doesn't want to piss off voters in November if he picks someone now? I'll bet Clinton wins with at least 60% of the vote in his district.

Kar,

Not too fast. People of the area have probably enjoyed the extra money and attention that has come as a result of being a red district with a blue representative.

There isn't enough beef behind Dan Meuser's policies to show the district a change is necessary. To win, Meuser's camp must show that his performance alone will make up for the drying up of money from DC.

Trust me, Chris Carney's positions on corn-based ethanol and the Feith memo by themselves are enough of a game-changer to push Carney to the showers, but since the Meuser seems unwilling at this point to play this gambit, it's going to be 54-46 Carney as a final tally.

Free advice:
1. Meuser is not going to win a debate on being stronger on national security to stay the course against a decorated member of the military.
2. Don't promote a fence on the border when it will be ineffective on "protecting us from the illegals"

(for those who are impatient, go to the 4 minute mark to see how ineffective the proposed wall will be)
3. Spend more time on promoting why residents will have a better chance at a future instead of promoting legislation to alleviate your own regulatory headaches. To paraphrase and old saying, "What's good for GM isn't necessarily good for the rest of the country."

expat,

even with the defection of Rs to the Dems, there is still a double digit Republican advantage.

Both men are Catholic, but only Meuser's pro-life.

Most of the Republicans I know who voted for Carney last time did it to send Sherwood a message. They'll be back on Meuser's side this fall.

Plus, there are a number of constituents waiting to tell their story of being ignored by his staff. you can have all the townhall meetings you want, but if your staff isn't in the district office to answer the phone or unlock the door, you aren't providing the service the 10th deserves.

carney's inaccessibility is a common problem many people complain about this constantly......
as far as debating Carney will wipe up the floor with Meuser. Meuser is a piss poor public speaker and his stuttering gets worse when he is pressed
