Ed Mitchell staying put

From PolitickerPA:

Inside Edge has learned from confidential media source in NEPA that longtime Paul Kanjorski spokesman Ed Mitchell is stepping down from his role as spokesman.

I asked Ed Michell about this and he says it's not true:

No. There's no change in my status. We added some help in the press office. I'm still doing everything I always did. I'm still the general strategist, the media consultant and the spokesman.

So he needed help in his press office. That translates to the messages he has been sending out, the twisted lies like the one about healthcare, the one that Lou Barletta supports George Bush when Barletta, as Mayor, could never vote for anything George Bush put before Congress although Paul Kanjorski did, the David Duke debacle, aren't resonating with the voters in the district.

What is resonating is the fact the he steered $10 million, now $13 million, into his own family's pocket and thought he got away with it. He never apologized for the company losing taxpayer money. He's too elitist for that.

There are commercials on the air right now from the National Association of Realtors. They paid $234,000.00 for those commercials. Take a look for yourselves. http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/can_give/2007_H0PA11050 He accepts that much money from one interest group. How can the voters have any voice when it is drowned out with that kind of money?

He lost the public trust over Cornerstone and he continues to lose it by accepting significant special interest money. He represents what is wrong with Washington and the voters are going to send a resounding message in November.

I heard him on Corbett the other day. Nice guy, he attacked McCain and Barletta in one breath in 30 seconds. he's certainly got his lines down.

IMO, he should hang it up.
