From a PR:
This afternoon the James May Campaign was informed that Karen Boback has rejected a request by the non-partisan League of Women Voters to debate the issues important to the voters of the 117th District. The League had proposed the dates of April 7, 8, or 9 as possible options. ... James had agreed to any one of the three days. Boback could not attend on those days, but then rejected any and all further dates for a debate due to "a previously-booked heavy campaign schedule".

No surprise there. If she debated, Boback would have to actually defend her voting record! I don't blame her for ducking out.
What a slap in the face to her constituents.
She won't debate because she would actually have to take a position on issues: Teacher Strikes; Ed Rendell's Billion Dollar Health Care Bill; School Choice; Spending; Pro-Gay Foster Care Bill etc. etc.
You are correct: what a slap in the face to her constituents.
If Karen Boback got into an argument in the back yard of Pickett's Charge, this headline could be "Boback debates ducks."
If I were her I wouldn't debate either as she will look like a deer in the headlights. She obviously knows she's no match for May with her poor record as evidence.
Gutless and disgraceful.
The TL Editors agree: Boback needs to do the right thing and find some time for a debate...http://www.timesleader.com/opinion/20080326_26_Our_opinion_ART.html
