Strategist

Every time I tune into a political show on any network they always have a segment with a couple of talking heads that I never have heard of identified as a Republican or Democratic "Strategist."

What qualifications do you need to be a "Strategist"?

As far as I can tell anyone who worked on one presidential campaign, has great hair and is photogenic meets the definition.

Gort, you volunteered for Phillies outfielder Danny Cater in 1976? What did he run for? Danny of course is close to my heart being a member of the 1964 Phillies. Gort, we are strategists, and we're both reasonably good looking, I mean women don't puke at the sight of us, and besides, we don't shout, we talk in measured tones.

If at least one candidate, somewhere, knew your name!

Hey, I've got great strategy lined up for John McCain! If'n he'll just call me -- even once -- I, too, can get 30 seconds of face time on Fox or CNN.

Or it could just mean "otherwise unemployed."

Can I be a strategist, too?

OK, Mr Gort, you need to update your site and get real trackbacks working!
