DALLAS -After six weeks in a state of limbo, Mayor Tim Carroll is back on the primary ballot for state representative in the 117th Legislative District. In a 5-2 decision, the state Supreme Court overturned on Monday a Commonwealth Court decision that kicked Carroll off the ballot, saying his oversights in his financial statement "did not remotely implicate Carroll's financial interests." At a news conference on Tuesday to announce the reinstatement, Carroll, a Republican, called himself a "hard-headed Irishman" who doesn't "take 'no' too well" and is "always there for the fight."
"Nothing's easy, is it?"
The other Republicans in the race are: Karen Boback, Stanford Davis, Michael McCormick, Ed Sichler, Eugene Stavitzski and Randy Tomasacci. James May, who lost his fight to get on the GOP ballot, is waging a write-in campaign. The winner will face Democrat Fred Nichols in the fall.

If Carroll were a true Irishman, he wouldn't be registered Republican. Can't he be excommunicated for that?
