Carney for Congress

Chris Carney,of Susquehanna County, has been considering a run for the 10th district seat held by Don Sherwood. He is a political science professor at Penn State-Worthington and does some work for the Department of Defense. It looks like he has taken a step closer to entering the race by establishing a website. Check out Chris Carney for Congress. So far it is just an email registration but I hope he adds some content in the near future.

I signed up for his mailing list. It will be interesting to see how things pan out vs. Sherwood.

A Primary challenge to Sherwood can only be good for the Democrats. Sherwood will most likely survive the contest but it, if history has anything to say about it, will damage him in the Fall campaign. Stay tuned.

I heard a rumor today that the NRCC is looking for a GOP primary candidate to challenge Sherwood.

I think the Republicans are going to go down like a lead balloon in 06. 'Bout time!!!

Anon, What is your source for that rumor?

Do you know anything about the mayor of Kingston, PA? (hint, hint)

I've never met Mr. Haggerty but he comes across as a loyal party man. I'm sure the RCCC and the state and national parties would back the incumbent. He would need a big war chest to take on Sherwood and he is not a rich man.

Haggerty himself has some serious "moral" skeletons in his closet; supposedly his honor was on former pimp Al Carpinet's client list back in the late 90's. This alone would be enough for the Grand Old Party to void his candidacy.

Hmmm... I wonder if the NRCC has done their homework or not.
