Cindy

Starting today, Gold Star families from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Arkansas and other states whose loved ones have died as a result of the war in Iraq will be joining one of their members, Cindy Sheehan, at the protest. Ms. Sheehan, whose son Army Specialist Casey Sheehan was killed in Sadr City, Iraq on April 4, 2004, has been in Crawford since August 5th, demanding a meeting with the President. These families will be joined by military families with loved ones currently serving in Iraq or about to deploy or redeploy to Iraq. All of these families are coming to Crawford, Texas to share their stories about the personal costs of the war in Iraq and add their voices to the call for a meeting with President Bush.

In the early afternoon, we got word that if we were still there by Thursday, we were going to be deemed a "security threat" to the president. Condi and Rummy are coming in on Thursday for a "policy" meeting. I just don't understand why we will be a security threat on Thursday when we aren't now? If we don't leave on Thursday, we will be arrested. Well, I am not leaving. There are only three things that would make me leave: if George comes out and talks to me; if August comes to an end, or if I am arrested."

Go talk to her George.

I understand that this lady is upset that she lost her son; but is it necessary that she meet the President--does anyone honestly believe that she will change his mind? Besides, the two already had a meeting a little while back and i am sure that she expressed her point to Mr. Bush. There is no way we can or should leave Iraq since that would only lead to a confirmed terrorist state which would then make it a fact that all of our fighting men and women who have died there will have done so in vain. I do not believe the President will withdraw the troops.

What does this lady want anyway? Leave Iraq and let it fall to the extremists? THat would be real good, huh? Sorry, but this lady and all of the liberals out there are very stupid...they all think that if we think peace and love that we will have it. The world don't work that way and the world ain't pretty. If the President thinks we need to be there then i'm with him!!!!!!

Have you ever heard the sound of a mother screaming for her son?
The torrential rains of a mother's weeping will never be done
They call him a hero, you should be glad that he's one, but
Have you ever heard the sound of a mother screaming for her son?
Have you ever heard the sound of a father holding back his cries?
He must be brave because his boy died for another man's lies
The only grief he allows himself are long, deep sighs
Have you ever heard the sound of a father holding back his cries?
Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's grave?
They say that he died so that the flag will continue to wave
But I believe he died because they had oil to save
Have you ever heard the sound of taps played at your brother's grave?
Have you ever heard the sound of a nation being rocked to sleep?
The leaders want to keep you numb so the pain won't be so deep
But if we the people let them continue another mother will weep

What about the cries of the innocent men, women, and young children who were tortured by Sadaam and his sadistic sons? Not to mention all of the creeps in his inner circle. Let it be known that we are there with good intentions and despite what his own mother believes, This young soldier died a hero. There is no shame on him; only on his MOther who dishonors his memory and the memories of all the other brave men and women who gave their life for freedom!!!!!

He could have avoided all this if he had taken 5 minutes out of his bike riding, fund raising and horse milking schedule to listen to a grieving Mom. No one expects him to change his mind; all she asks is that he listens. But no dissent is listened to by this Administration.

Let's face it; the last thing this lady wants is for Bush to actually meet her! After all, if we know that the President is not going to change his mind then what does Ms. Sheehan hope to accomplish by meeting with Bush. This is nothing more than an anti-war rally set up to embarrass the President of the United States. DOn't get me wrong, she and all of the other protestors have every right to assemble and state their points of view--I just wish that Ms. Sheehan would be a bit more upfront about it.
