Take care of yourself and Mrs. G. That is most important.

Thanks for not busting on Muroski. Corbett is doing it enough for all of us.

Happy New Year to all!!!

Take a break. Recharge the batteries. But I gotta tell you, it's a hard habit to give up completely.

Gort...it does get quasi-nutso from time to time. Anyway, I hope you feel up to resuming sometime soon, as this area needs folks like you. Too many have been too silent for far too long.

OK Gort, my favorite blogger...I'm going to cave in and finally leave a comment...Hope you go back and delete the "Maybe" in this post and just leave it at "Be back soon". As always, I'm VERY interested in reading your posts. Most days I'd rather read your blog than the local news to find out what's happening around town...

Yes! There are some pints and quarts waiting to be consumed. Let me break out my astrolabe, Magic 8-Ball and twenty-sided dice and see if I can figure out when I'm off work again!

Blogs are dead, long live Twitter.

"Blogs are dead, long live Twitter"...yes, let's turn absolutely every complex issue into something that is no more than 140 characters or less. Utterly f&^%king brilliant.

As if many Americans already didn't have the attention span of a semi-retarded Norway Rat...

So this Gort guy thinks he is some sort of big shot because he pontificates on the internet. Everybody has 2 things, an opinion and an asshole. He shows more of the latter and I can tell you the local Democratic Party is happy to see his back.

Anonymous said...

And I thought it was just me??

Anonymous said...

Hey 6:32 what Democratic party are you talking about? This current bunch (as in bananas) are about as organized as a gang of rats. Look at the last election and see how many were supporting Republican Hughes. Phonies one and all. If the Republicans were not so dysfunctional, there might be real political control in Luzerne county but with Buff and friends, the Republicans have nothing to worry about. And, the thing saving the Democrats is having idiots such as Carolee and shot from the lop Griffith as Party figureheads ........ Excuse me, I can't type while laughing.

Speaking of Carolee ... not a Medico ... Olengenski, I happy her priority is her office decors. If she actually got busy being the Prothonotary, the taxpayers might have something to worry about. One day on the job and she issues a press release stating how much money was missing from her office ..... like she would know! Her claim to fame is installing a coin operated copy machine .... Now stop laughing, that isn't nice. Poooorrrr Carolee, I wonder if she even begins to understand how belittling it is to use her divorced husband's name? I wonder if her husband has any pride or is he just that pussy whipped?

Hey Gort.I like the blog also, check it a few times a day usually. Hurry back

Gortimus Maximus,

Whatever you got to do, do it.

This blogging stuff will (for the most part) not change minds, it will not cure cancer or any rare foot diseases, it will not deliver us to Nirvana by tonight and it will not matter in the least if it places a distant second to your personal life, or your overall well-being.

Be well. Be happy. Be whatever it is that you truly need to be. The blogging can wait.

Klattu, Barada, Nickto.

Gort, don't know if you're keeping up with the daily posts or not, but if you are, I would like to make the point to you that nothing, absolutely nothing is worth your personal contentment. I wonder if people realize the dedication it takes to do this day after day and often times, hour after hour but I for one do appreciate what it takes. I agree with MARK, be happy and do whatever it takes to recharge your batteries and if you lose interest in maintaining a blog, it is certainly understandable. Bottom line, nobody is more important to you than you. Be happy.

Hey anon 6:32

Sorry, but you don't even deserve a capital A. You must be an asshole, too, if you keep reading Gort42 and that's your opinion of him. If you don't like what he has to say keep off his blog. If you think you can do better then go for it! And have a happy new year. anon asshole.

I have to disagree with my friends above. What you are doing is making it lot easier for me and others to connect the dots. What I learn here I share with a lot of people who vote accordingly.

Do what you want, nobody will hold that against you. But don't think you are waisting your time by doing what you can to get the real stories out.

Of all the comments included in this posting, young Mr. Toole has shown a degree of clarity, wisdom, intelligence and class. What a shame that he is not in the Controller's chair as opposed to the reckless Mr. Griffith.
P.S. Although I don't like Gort (he's a Commie), I wish him well. Hell, I'll even invite him up to the ol' homestead for a piece of Thelma Jean's Groundhog Pie and a cup of coffee; so long as he doesn't try to spew his commie doctrine under my roof!!!

Today TL front page and guess who is once again looking for a headline. Yesterday Griffith claimed he is saving the taxpayers money be refusing to pay earned benefits of people being handed a layoff slip including the former Deputy Controller. Today, he now understands county personnel policies so he gets another headline stating he will pay the benefits due but demands a more clear understanding of policies. No, what Griffith needs is experience and knowledge coupled with a degree of commonsense or at least he should make the effort to meet with management, get an explanation and then run to the press if his over whelming desire for publicity requires it. The Citizen's Voice doesn't understand that the TL is Griffith's choice for media because the TL endorsed him and the CV did not. Too bad CV.

9:40, Obviously you have never seen the TL reporter and the CV reporter. This is a no brainer! Jennifer vs Buffer ....... not even close.
