Travel status

Me and Mrs. G are flying out to the left coast to attend a wedding so I will be offline for a few days. I may be able to hit a computer here and there but I don't expect to post anything. If I have time I will schedule a few YouTube videos about flying and California.

My friend Another Monkey cautions about revealing travel plans that let would be burglars know when you residence will be unoccupied. No worries there. The Gort42 Command Bunker will be guarded by our 4 legged burglar alarm and the the No Frack attack cat with help from a trio of friends that will double as their temporary housekeeping staff.

I will leave you with a poll on the sidebar. Will the Luzerne County Home Rule Charter pass?

Can you imagine if Walter G. was not an elected official, if he were still an activist and an elected official was part of an official Home Rule No committe?
He would be blowing a gasket. He would be crying how elected officials should not try and influence the outcome of this decision. It should be in the hands of the voters.
He has become part of the sytstem and wants to protect his job. He is no longer a watch dog, he is one of them.

I disagree, Walter has been able to accomplish what he has so far because of the power he now has as controller. He removed himself from the GSC when he was controller and I wish he didn't. He knows that the controller's position will lose its power if this charter passes, and the potential for more corruption in the executive branch of county government will exist. Walter knows he will not be controller forever. He is trying to preserve the power of the controller for the future of the county. It has nothing to do with his job. The elected controller position will still be there if the charter passes anyway.
