Bob Casey is a crook

Or he just hangs around with them. That's the idea I got after just watching Rick Santorum's latest ad. It shows a bunch of guys sitting around a table, smoking cigars and then says Casey has taken money from people with all sorts of legal problems but doesn't name names. It ends by asking where Casey holds his campaign meetings while showing the group in a jail cell.

WOW! It has to be one of the most desperate and dirty ads I've ever seen. And not too smart as little digging into Santorum contributors will surely reveal he has taken a bunch of money from some unsavory characters. I just checked Santorum's website but it's not listed yet.

Update: SantorumBlog has a run down of who is being alluded to and found the link on YouTube.

Not only is he a crook, but he can't get dressed, wets his bed, drools on himself when he drinks water and hasn't worn pants out of the house in three years. The guy is clearly a loser.

That's the standard that the right has set for Casey. When we see that he can string together sentences, hold his own against Angry Rick and is able to win over voters, it just shows how out of touch Rick and the Radical Right really are.

I found this AP article about the ad. Here's the link (If it doesn't work, I found it on pennlive.com under "Election"):

Santorum was down in some polls by nearly 20 points just a few weeks ago; according to the latest Zogby poll he is within the margin of error (Casey 47--Santorum 43). Taking this into consideration it is His Holiness' unfortunate duty to predict that Santorum will squeak by to victory.

no poll shows Santorum above 43%. Good luck with that as a number. Elections can't be won with 43%.

Team Bush could find a way of winning with 43%.Maybe Santorum should have Katherine Harris count the votes.

Santorum needs to be a little more careful here. Apart from the desperation this ad reveals, even a cursory look at the Santorum backers provides more ammo for the Dems than Santorum has dug up here. If you want to damn people by their friends, here’s a snip from a piece I did back in May:

Two former aides to Rick Santorum have been charged with multiple violations of the Federal Election Campaign Act in connection with their PAC and contributions, including to Santorum’s campaign. In a five-count complaint filed by the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (”CREW”), Santorum’s aides are alleged to have violated disclosure requirements, campaign contribution limits, PAC contribution limits, and solicitation regulations.

In February, 2001, John Dick and Joseph Kuklis, formed the lobbying company, GSP Consulting Corp. (GSP), to assist technology companies, non profit organizations and commercial real estate developers identify, chase and secure sources of government funding. Dick has deep ties to Santorum. Immediately before forming GSP, Dick was a Deputy Campaign manager for Santorum’s 2000 re-election campaign. Kuklis was Deputy State Director for the same Santorum campaign.

GSP operates out of the same office building as Santorum’s Pittsburgh operations and has managed to secure for its clients some $35 million in appropriations, according to an April 2006 report by the Philadelphia Inquirier.

This race is pretty much: My Anti-Abort is better than your Anti-Abort.

Okay, trying that again:

More fun with the Santorum hypocrisy machine: http://abigfatslob.blogspot.com/2006/09/another-friend-of-rick-sits-in-jail.html

If the Dems don't start playing hardball with some ads they are going to go down again. How many times do they have to be hit over the head until they realize they have to hit back twice as hard. This truly pisses me off!

I'm angrier than Dick Cheney on a hunting trip over the way the Commie Liberals attack our Sainted Senator Santorum simply because the guy is telling the truth!! Prissy bolshevik actor Jack Nicholson said one thing that I agree with and I would like to shove it in the Liberals faces: "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!" When I look at those yahoos sittin at that poker table in prison I clasp my calloused hands (from 45 years of brick laying) in prayer of thanks that we have a decent and honorable man like Sen. Santorum in Washington to represent us (and to keep in check the Commie Spector). Why any decent God Fearing American would even consider voting for that wag Snobby Casey is beyond me--he dresses up in hunting gear trying to be one of the boys--all the while going to prissy nail shops getting a manicure!! Some man, huh?! My wife Thelma Jean has more hair on her chest than Casey has!!! TO Hell with Gort and his lying Commie site---To Hell with Bob Casey--and a triple TO HELL to all the Commies who read my guest post and wouldn't even comment on it!!! (But a nice "Hello" to the 2 who did). Goddamned Liberals--Drop Dead!!!!!

that's funny, meanie, when the topic is immigration (legal is worse than illegal), Conserves are about .05% better than Libs.

When it's love of diversity, you are equally the same diversity- terrorists as the Libs.

when it's draft-dodging or service-avoiding, you Cheney-Rove-Limbaughs wrote the book.

And SANTORUM, DENT, GUNTHER-WALSH, BECK, HANNITY, SAVAGE-WEINER. the list of cowards is endless.

Attytude at the Philadelphia Daily News had a post on this. One of those guys has been dead 2 years. Another one was running the bank where Ricky got his favored-status mortgage. And so forth. The one that really sticks to Casey is Vince Fumo, who was a big Casey backer--when he ran against Rendell.
